Following a Lifelong Dream to Be a Surgeon
Dr. Minoli was born and raised in Brooklyn. From a young age, he was surrounded by medicine and surgery, with three previous generations of doctors in his family. Because of this, the importance of education was instilled in him early on.
He was only in second grade when he decided that becoming a surgeon was his goal, being inspired by Dr. Christiaan Barnard, the first surgeon to perform a human heart transplant.
As Dr. Minoli grew up, he moved away from medicine and took up more artistic interests; however, in the end, the desire to practice medicine and help patients was still rooted in him, and he saw plastic surgery as the ideal way to integrate and combine his love of art, science, and surgery.
A True Renaissance Man
True to the name, Dr. Minoli is well-rounded and skilled in many areas. In addition to his interest in science, he has always gravitated to sports (he loves golf) and artistic pursuits, including theater, drama, and singing. In 1979, Dr. Minoli even sang with a group to a full capacity audience at the world-famous Carnegie Hall. While he no longer performs (at least to that level), he still loves music and often plays Sinatra in the operating room.
Ancient arts are the healing arts, and he is a true artist.

Drawn to Facial Rejuvenation
While also trained and experienced in body and breast procedures, Dr. Minoli was drawn to the head and neck from the beginning of his career. This interest initially led him to ear, nose, and throat surgery.
Dr. Minoli has spent more than twice the average surgeon’s time training in face and nose plastic surgery. Few other doctors in America have achieved the same level of advanced rhinoplasty, nasal, and facelifting training as he.
Over 10 Years of Postdoctoral Training
Exceptionally Skilled and Trained
In plastic surgery, there are some things that only experience can teach. To this day, there are still things that Dr. Minoli sees during surgery that surprise him, and he is continuously learning and adapting his skills to provide better and safer results.
Throughout his years of advanced study and experience, Dr. Minoli has completed two surgical residencies, two fellowships, three board certifications, and over 10 years of postdoctoral training in general surgery, head and neck surgery, and all forms of plastic surgery.
Education
As a child growing up in Brooklyn, Dr. Minoli’s family stressed the importance of education.
After graduating from the Ivy League’s Polytechnic Preparatory Country Day School, Dr. Minoli first attended the University of Virginia before graduating Summa Cum Laude from Fordham University in Lincoln Center, New York City, with a bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences. During his undergraduate years, he was funded by the United States Department of Energy to work at Oak Ridge Biomedical Laboratories in Tennessee.
Dr. Minoli stayed in New York state to continue his medical degree, graduating with academic honors from SUNY — Update Medical Center in Syracuse. He then completed a one-postdoctoral research fellowship in brain research at SUNY.
Training
After completing a six-year residency in Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery at Washington University’s Barnes and Jewish Hospitals in St. Louis, he traveled west to Beverly Hills to complete a one-year fellowship in facial plastic surgery with the respected Dr. Frank Kamer.
Following this training, he returned to New York City to join Dr. Milton Ingerman’s practice, where he performed facial plastic surgery and otolaryngology. While there, he served as a clinical instructor of surgical residents at the renowned Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital.
After this experience, he decided to expand his studies to all areas of plastic surgery, completing a two-year residency in general plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas, Southwestern.
